Namibia & Botswana expedition

This is truly an off-road tour (level 5) that cuts across the untouched beauty of Africa, and as we’ll be leaving the public roads behind us, this means you’ll have to buckle up and work ‘hard’ behind the wheel every once in a while. We’ll wade through rivers, drive through savannahs, swamps and salt pans. Whether we’re crossing the dunes and Namib desert or the wilderness in Botswana: this tour presents a wonderful challenge and guarantees you will never be bored. Ever single day is different. You and your Bliss Mobil will face desert sands, swamps, salt pans, beaches and grasslands. And, wherever possible, we’ll be sleeping underneath the stars. 

For three weeks, Africa will surprise you at every turn as you journey through the wilderness, alongside the ocean, and across nature parks, forests, volcanos and deserts, encountering diverse wildlife along the way. This expedition offers a tour of contrasting experiences, from the rugged, untouched nature of Namibia to the wildlife-rich parks and bush of Botswana.

We’ll traverse the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, a 700-kilometer stretch of rough, inhospitable landscape, famous for its shipwrecks and large colonies of seals. Brace yourself for the thrill of driving and camping in Namib bush riverbeds, right in the heart of nature. Plus, get ready for a unique opportunity to spot endangered rhinos, adding an extra layer of excitement and conservation awareness to your journey. In Namibia’s Etosha National Park, you’ll have a fantastic opportunity to drive among the Big Five with your Bliss Mobil.

Moving on to Botswana through the Caprivi Strip, you’ll witness the wonders of the Okavango Delta, the world’s largest inland delta, attracting wildlife for drinking and bathing. Navigating the Okavango Delta by boat, you’ll explore the Moremi Game Reserve and the famous Chief’s Island through waterways full of wildlife and birdlife. Further along, the water evaporates, revealing the impressive salt pan known as the Makgadikgadi Pan.

We’ll traverse ever-changing surroundings and spectacular landscapes. After each adventure-packed day, you’ll retreat to your home away from home, parked in some of the most magnificent places on earth—ranging from salt pans to deltas, dunes, river beds, villages, and deserts. We’re confident that you’ll rarely feel as free as you do on this journey.

Tip! A sequel is already planned for this trip (not included in the price of the Namibia & Botswana expedition). Do you want to discover more of Africa? Book the follow-up expedition through Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi and Tanzania from 13/09/25 to 13/10/25 (31 days). If desired, we can arrange the storage of your vehicle (price on request). The vehicle will then be stored in a secured area close to the finish of the Namibia & Botswana expedition. Since we are also starting the follow-up expedition there, you can get back on board in September and enjoy the next expedition without having to ship the truck.

Transport & storage

Transport of your Bliss Mobil to Namibia is of course arranged, but not included in the price of the trip. The price for shipping is based on open calculation. If you also want to participate in the follow-up expedition (Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Malawi & Tanzania) we can arrange storage (price on calculation). This way you can just board again and continue your journey at the end of September 2025.
