We beginnen op 7 juli in Cusco aan een reis die ons in 35 dagen naar Santiago, de hoofdstad van Chili, brengt. Ook wel bekend als het hoogste bevaarbare meer ter wereld.<\/li>\n<li>Ten zuidoosten van het Titicacameer ligt <strong>La Paz<\/strong>. De Boliviaanse stad La Paz is een unieke en bijzondere stad vanwege haar geografische ligging in het <strong>Andesgebergte<\/strong>, haar levendige cultuur en haar diverse bevolking. De stad ligt in een kloof die is ontstaan door de Choqueyapu-rivier en wordt omringd door de hoge bergen van de Altiplano.<\/li>\n<li>Durf jij de <strong>El Camino de la Muerte<\/strong>, of &#8220;Death Road\u201d te nemen?* Een smalle, bochtige weg die zich uitstrekt van La Paz naar Coroico, en die wordt gezien als een van de gevaarlijkste wegen ter wereld vanwege de steile kliffen, het ontbreken van vangrails en de frequente aardverschuivingen. Zeker een must voor wie niet vies is van een adrenalinerush. El Camino de la Muerte is niet alleen spannend, het biedt een prachtig uitzicht op het omringende landschap, en het is een geweldige manier om de unieke cultuur van Bolivia te ervaren. <em>*) Of het verstandig is om deze weg te nemen is afhankelijk van de afmetingen van jouw voertuig en de weersomstandigheden.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>De <strong>zoutvlakten in Bolivia<\/strong> zijn bijzonder omdat ze ongelooflijk groot en ongerept zijn. Ze zijn \u2013 de naam verklapt het al &#8211; bedekt met een dikke laag zout en staan bekend om het prachtige landschap, waarbij het witte zout contrasteert met de diepblauwe lucht en de felrode bergen op de achtergrond. De zoutvlaktes zijn ook belangrijk voor de lokale bevolking, die het zout gebruikt voor handel en zelfs religieuze ceremonies.<\/li>\n<li>Tijdens deze expeditie doorkruisen we ook de <strong>Atacama Desert<\/strong>, een kustwoestijn in het noorden van Chili, die zich over bijna 1000 km uitstrekt langs de kust van de Stille Oceaan. Het is de droogste niet-poolwoestijn ter wereld, met gemiddeld 1 mm neerslag per jaar.<\/li>\n<li>Persoonlijk vinden wij de <strong>sterrenhemel<\/strong> in de Atacama Desert misschien wel de allermooiste in de hele wereld. We zijn benieuwd of je het met ons eens bent! Het Paranal Observatorium in de Atacama-woestijn biedt een van de aller-aller-beste omstandigheden ter wereld voor het kijken van sterren en andere hemellichamen. De locatie ligt op een hoogte van 2650 meter en heel weinig lichtvervuiling.<\/li>\n<li>Alpaca&#8217;s zul je zeker genoeg zien. Gewoon langs de weg! Want <strong>alpaca\u2019s<\/strong> komen van nature voor op de hoge Andes-plateaus van Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador en Chili. De dieren worden voornamelijk gehouden voor hun wol, die heel zacht en warm is.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=&#8221;40px&#8221;]<div class=\"qodef-image-gallery
