Botswana is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful countries in Africa. It has a landscape like no other and a fantastic wildlife<\/strong> population. The country is largely untouched by human civilization, with a vast wilderness that is home to elephants, leopards, buffaloes<\/strong> and other important members of Africa’s wildlife. Although Botswana has incredible wildlife, there is more than that! Like the Okavango Delta<\/strong>, the largest inland delta, and the Makgadikgadi pan<\/strong>, one of the largest salt flats in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Botswana has a very low population density. The wilderness is quiet and peaceful, which makes it perfect for travelers who want a more remote experience: think off-road driving through breathtaking nature without meeting anyone, sleeping under the stars and taking the time to get to know other cultures.<\/span><\/p>\n

From vast golden desert plains to flooding rivers, parched salt pans and vast savannas with migrating mammals: Botswana is an amazing destination for overland travel. The country holds a number of world records, including the world’s largest salt flats and the world’s largest inland delta. It\u2019s also home to the world\u2019s largest concentration of <\/span>African elephants<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This Botswana expedition starts in Maun<\/strong>, from where we drive through various nature reserves and around the <\/span>Okavango Delta<\/span><\/strong>, the world’s largest inland delta. The Okavango Delta is one of the most inspiring wilderness locations in Africa. It is a paradise of islands, wildlife and green vegetation in the middle of the desert.<\/span><\/p>\n

During this Botswana expedition we travel through unique natural areas you don\u2019t see anywhere else in the world. From areas filled with water and greenery to the vast <\/span>Makgadikgadi pan<\/span> with savannah, grassland and salt flats. The Makgadikgadi salt pan<\/strong> was once a lake, covering 10,000 square kilometers.<\/span><\/p>\n

The expedition takes place during the dry period in Botswana. This is the best time to spot animals because of the low vegetation. And there is no lack of wildlife in the area we travel. Almost 40 percent of Botswana consists of <\/span>national parks<\/span><\/strong> and nature reserves that offer many large areas for animals like <\/span>elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, leopards and wild dogs <\/span><\/strong>to roam. The water is high at the time we are there, so animals are migrating to the area around the delta. From the high mountains of Angola, the water takes four months to reach the Okavango Delta. Because it is such a good time to spot wildlife, we\u2019ll go on several <\/span>wildlife safaris <\/span><\/strong>through the best parks of Botswana. And of course we camp in the wilderness as much as possible, in our Bliss Mobils. This way you can enjoy the adventure in luxury.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2022 there will be 7 rental expedition trucks available with a 13 Foot High Bed Bliss Mobil unit presented on a well-equipped Mercedes-Benz Atego 1018 4\u00d74; extremely suitable for remote and independent travel. This means that everyone can now fulfill their travel dreams. Carefree.<\/span><\/p>\n

The expedition truck not only takes you from A to B, but thanks to the well-equipped unit and all its features, you can also stay anywhere in luxury. In the African desert, at altitude, the rainforest: no matter where you are, you can sleep comfortably, cook, shower, enjoy the sunset or warm your feet with the underfloor heating. This exceptional combination of luxury and adventure is true bucket list material.<\/span><\/p>\n
